Nice beginner's gunner armor

err... ok... i don't really know how to start on this...

Currently i'm Hr 32, i was planning to play as an gunner (not really that good but need to get myself all round skill) after my los battle set (hopefully can reach lv7) and yes, i'm a melee attacker, but i things are getting harder for me so i was thinking of getting a gunner set just incase ... because

1) helping Hr30>31 ppl to do Shen Gaoren,
2) preparing myself for yama for hr 40>41.... or was it hr 50>51
3) maybe for white fatalist, lao shan, or any other imba ancient dragons

ok to the main point of what i need to know/do is:

- which one is better... bow (looks cool), light bowgun, heavy bowgun, (not sure if there's any medium bowgun) *please give pro and cons if there is any so i can make my decision*

- base on my HR what monster set (that i can farm for) is good for that type of bowgun/bow

- correct me if i'm wrong, the important skills part of gunners are Attack *large up*, Expert *+3?*, Potential (Adrenaline rush+2), and *normal up, pierces up or scatter up* and others not sure

btw i saw this guy he kinda mix his armor around and get 6 skills for gunners build (a Hr84 dude)
what i saw was
+Attack large up
+Expert +2
+Potential +2
+*Normal up or pierce up or scatter up* or was it *auto-tracker*
+High-grade earplug
+Runner

Well, I'm not a gunner so I probably don't know what I am talking about but I will try anyway

1) Bow:

+ great mobility, you can dodge almost every attack with it.
+ melee attack
+ unlimited ammo plus multiple arrows in one shot
-'s I dunno lol

Light Bowgun:

+ you can aim better
+ you can run with the light bowgun
+ add expansions
- need shells
- if aiming is the same as in MHF2 you loose sight on
everything behind you

Heavy Bowgun:

Same as Light Bowgun for most part only stronger attacks
and more range if I am correct. Minus the mobility.

2) Sorry can't help you with this

3) Runner is also important to have I believe like the Hr84 dude has.

Runner is good for Bow/Arrow user

personally.. i tried Bow/arrow.. i liked it on PsP.. but not a fan on Frontier.. especially once i tried HBG (started with Rock Eater) i loved it.. now im using the Shen Gaoren's HBG.. its quite powerful

the bad thing is the mobility.. you walk with the heavy bowgun.. but the immense power that you can unleash with it.. is awesome

Light bowguns, i never tried.. assuming its weaker then HBG.. but the rapid fire would be the ideal choice u would go for selected LBG...

i have no gunner skill set (i think).. and yet i do quite a lotta dmg.. and im always grabbing aggro from all the monsters ><. and i always use Mega DemonDrug + Atk Horn

my suggestion, go to your 'My House/Room'.. sleep on your bed to test out the weapons
or buy a bow/lbg/hbg (preferably same level each) then test it out on Kutku or Khezu .. and see how they work out for you

in the end, everyone have their own opinion... u might not end up using a range weapon.. who knows? lol

well i do used all 3 type of it... in psp... i like bow is because of the element.. and how 'imba' it can be with mega-demondrug + power pill + atk flute (x5 x64 x2) but not sure how it stacks... because i read in gamefaqs (other version of MH series) u need to do like flute + demon drug + mega demondrug + power pill will get to x2 x3 x5 x64 = x1920 which i was like WTF!... doesn't the previous one get remove and will be overwrite by the new one? *need answers*

i'm ok with all 3 but 1 major big problem... need to get used to all the korean names for the bullets/arrow coating... and skills for gunners... and elements.. as they don't really have weapon tree except for bow

im not sure about the XX Boosts on atk XD i just use them.. cuz they boost me XD

but question.. how long does Power pill last?

as for the korean namse of items.. yes it was difficulty before when i first started.. but now.. its like Korean is my actual 2nd language lol (i used to put my PSP powered on to see which bullet is in which order lol) besides, i made the Item List.. u can just view and remember the names... not that hard..

and about the decision about getting gunner set and all... i have decided ... right now with my gunner KK set which gives

+Attack Large up
+Expert +2
-30 defence

I decided to used HBG, since mhg19 video vs los inspired me to play HBG and with Daora's HBG

But i don't really think that i can survive with just KK gunner set, so can some1 tell me other than bas set and short set for what monster set to farm for...
