Hey all, just wondering, is there any ruststone tactic as in Monster Hunter Portable? Cause I already wasted like 6 ruststones and never got any rust weapon  greetz |

You can try hoarde as many as you can before polishing them, but there is no other tactic, since you can't save your game and reset to a point where you have ruststones again.

There is a trick to get a certain kind of rusted weapon you want , LTRFOX told me this trick :
-Gather around 20 rust/ancient stones : mine in tower area with gathering+2 armor, if you get rust/ancient stone , kill yourself 3 times with bomb and you keep the stone , if you mine only shit , quit and restart the quest . The best quest to mine stone in tower is kirin 22 or gold/silver Raths 51 because they supply bombs , or farm Lao Shan Lung 31 with luck+ armor . In those 20 stones , you only need 1 stone of the rusted weapon you want .
-Polish those 19 other stones , if you get a rusted weapon ( write down all the rusted weapons 's names so you know the weapon is rusted when you see its name ) , DONT EQUIP IT OR SEND IT TO BOX ( basically , dont choose 2 options appear near the weapon ) , press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end MHF program or simply unplug your internet cable .
-Log in again and polish the rust/ancient stone you want , 100% it will be rusted weapon .

Isn't your inventory data updated and saved server-side until you exit the shop menus? That strikes me as odd, and the only possible explanation to why this works. Now you got me curious about stuff I shouldn't think about... I have to get some rusts and confirm this. |

Probably works, because one time I was doing smth in my bank and MHFO crashed. When i logged in again, bank was reset to state it was before I opened it last time.

just grab a stone. polish it an if you dont get it right after polished, reboot before continuing or it will save.... fuck me, I would rather mine or trade festival Pts for them rather than rebooting game an assload of times

D'Oh, CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't work on Win7 -.- (opens action menu: change user etc.)

Nothing wrong with you , my first 30 rust stones and 30 ancient stones only give shit weapons . Maybe the game start give you rusted weapon after you burn a lot of stones first .
And this trick really works , if you guys dont believe me , I will post my rusted weapons collection .
