I have played and tried too many MMORPGs and MMOGs mainly Asian ones (Japanese and Korean). The list:

Phantasy Star Online - PC (my first MMOG, not truly a MMOG, but an awesome Online Multiplayer Hack n Slash nevertheless)

Lineage 2 - US Official Server (played for 2+ years, great at 2004-2006, now it is dead, farmers and bots killed it and the horrible customer service)

Guild Wars (good for 2-3 months, then it gets old quickly, note that GW is not a true MMOG, it's an instanced online multiplayer title)

Eve-Online (has the best customer service so far in an online game, also one server for all, there are 45+k players logged in at the same time on one server, epic PVP battles but everything else gets boring after a while, played for 1 1/2 year)

Granado Espada - Phillipines Server (it could be better, a mediocre f2p mmo with great visuals)

Archlord - US Server (lol, avoid)

Lord of the Rings (only two days lol, what a waste of time and money -- horrible MMOG)

Phantasy Star Blue Burst (back to the good old SEGA days!)

Phantasy Star Universe (not so good as the original PSO)

Final Fantasy XI (epic mmorpg, biggest mmog of all time, so much to do and see you need at least 5 years of hardcore gaming to see what this game has to offer)

No I stopped a few months ago after 4-5 months of hardcore gaming. I was in a very good active Linkshell (Bahamut Server) and I spend many nights farming NMs. But I was highly addicted and I stopped playing it. It was a scary thing. After all, my gaming time is eaten by Monster Hunter at the moment.

yeap.. waiting for that one altho im not as interested in mmorpg's as i used to be ever since i started playing MHF.. but since i <3'ed FFXI.. i cant stay away from the new one.. and i see Galka's and Mithras too!

Yeah same here I am more interested to Action MMOGs again than MMORPGs. There is a BIG difference of the above genres with the most important of all the battle itself. The battle on the first genre is full of action and requires skill while in the second genre the battle is more stat-based, sometimes even turn-based and point and click.

You can smoke and play FFXI at the same time, you can't do that on any Monster Hunter game -- try it!

That's why I truly believe that the majority of MMO gamers out there are lazy ex-gamers that prefer animation and graphics than action and skill. Hopefully more and more Action MMOGs on the way, the next-gen Korean MMOGs are looking good.

XD this is more like the RO topic. I had my fair share of RO, Played lots of private servers myself, kinda still do. I just go into AradSenki and Dungeon Fighter those are fairly good and fun for me so far, I just got accepted to the USA version for beta. For MMO I played Ragnarok Online, Resident Evil:Outbreak series, Diablo Series.Monster Hunter every series including PS2/JPN, probably more but can't think of them well not too many but just a few. I played RO since it came out and I'm gonna play till the 3rd classes are out in privates server which some are.

i used to play ragnarok online for a few years. i didn't even think it was fun anymore and yet i kept playing, just for all my friends there... stopped like three years ago though @_@ god damn you nostalgia.

I play WoW on the WoWLegacy private servers. I can't stand the vanilla game, too much grinding and work.

I've played Guild Wars, loved Dervishes. Never seriously got into it but my character was level 20.

Tried the Warhammer Online trial, THAT was fun. Wish I could play that.
