Anybody playing it? Arena/training is hard as shit. I mean like diamond studded shit. Not soft squishy shit that escapes out your rearmost orifice.
Pretty cool game. Playing on my Emu.
Graphics are much better. Monsters are more fun to fight. Slash axe sucks. New bowguns suck. Only like 3 possible LBG combinations. The LBG evasion moves suck anyway. Too short, so even if you are on time, you usually get hit anyways. Evade+2 makes it useful though.
Uh. Equips. Jewel equipments are cool. Basically just more skill points without having to use armor decorations. You get them randomly from quests. They're called MYSTERY CHARM when you find them.
Gemming is less stressful now. All armor comes with slots regardless of upgrades. Unless it has none. Most armor isn't too much different in terms of defense but 10 def makes a big difference now. And resistances seem to matter more too.
No repeats of weapons. Thank god. Good thing about having almost no monsters with same status/element. Hope there's DLC.
Buy it when it comes out!
uhh yeah. cool game.

I think MH3 is a pretty cool guy. eh kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything... But seriously, its a pretty nice game even though i pray for dlc since there are only 16 bosses of with 3 are pretty simmilar monsters (Barroth,Uragankin and evil Joe) +3 old ones, i left out the 2 "Dos" since they are just stared to death. Armor Upgrading is sooo comfortable since i only know upgrading from MHFO^^ The Charms are awsome even though i mostly found crap so far except +10precission -10Thundrres^^ But damn new bowguns are friggin nice, i mean rapidfire on shielded hbg rocks never tryed lbg and mbg Only thing that annoys the shit out of me is underwater fights with PS2 controll layout

I hate that this game is all Monster Hunter 1 again, so I don't know if I should buy it. I don't own a Wii and since I read somewhere that Capcom might consider doing a MH title on the PS3 in the future I am gonna wait for either that or either MH3G or MH4 and buy myself a Wii.
Btw. did you guys know that capcom had a competition in which you could create you own weapon and they will be featured in the overseas versions of the game?

Well, people can just "borrow" the game/download and rip the game to an iso and play like that, patch it for english, and then play on their hacked wii.
...or you can just do like I did, and homebrew wii, import game, and play. Got it within a few weeks after it came out. (delivery and getting money, of course)
Also, on another topic, why does no one like the old times anymore? What's so bad about it being like MH1? Oh well, the new generation of hunters sucks... (i joke, i joke...)
Still, I find Tri's quite a fresh take on things, but still has the old school feel to it, which is a nice thing. I guess I like it more cause I'm more of the older type of hunter when it comes to game play. (doesn't make me better though, then OR now. D: )

I love the old school feel. It feels much more like the original. No DS is HELLZYEAH.
LS is new DS anyways. Almost. Limited combo though.
Main reason I don't play MHFO very much. Same old stuff and too much grinding. I hate getting more mats for upgrades. At least upgrading in Tri is nice and simple.
Original MH was THE HARDESTSHIET EVER. Except for headlocking los. Batshitstupid.
I play tri on my PC btw. Kinda laggy sometimes. I'm buying a wii soon.

Can't wait for EU release.
Don't count on a DLC with new monsters by the way, they're most likely going to spawn 5000 editions of Tri where they add new and old monsters and weapons.

"Original MH was THE HARDESTSHIET EVER"
Monster Hunter was VERY simple... everything was easy there. Simple upgrades get boring fast. MHFO on the other hand is a lottttt more complex and it's meant to be that way since its a MMO. I just don't think you got far enough into the game to experience the great stuff.
Oh and on a side note, season 7 has made DS's practically useless. And "elder ticket" quests have become rather boring. MHFO Japan server 1 has lost about 30-50% of its community because of the 7.0 disappointment XD

[off topic]*takes a breath* Original MH was THE HARDESTSHIET EVER. Except for headlocking los. Batshitstupid. Glad someone else hated that too. That tactic got so overused it's not funny. Thankfully, I'd be gunner and cluster them out of the way. On another note: Monster Hunter was VERY simple... everything was easy there. Simple upgrades get boring fast. MHFO on the other hand is a lottttt more complex and it's meant to be that way since its a MMO. Well, to some, it wasn't easy since it actually required some skill if you were new to the online part. To some people it was like "too easy" because either they have worked at it enough for them to know how the weapon works to the fullest or take advantage of any weaknesses and/or tricks. Not saying it was the only way, but at least not being over powered was good too, since it was actually a challenge to play the game and not finish in like, what, a week? Still, I guess I found that the good old times were good, since there wasn't many "strong" weapons, as you could take a more then decent weapon and still pull out fine... if you knew how to fight with said weapon that is. Armor, too, felt like it wasn't the main thing, as the weapon itself made a difference also. Even if a beginner was starting out, and if they could get close to an upper number of defense, but were not very good at the game, at least they can stand a chance. I'm most likely not making sense, or making any valid points, but what I guess I'm trying to get at, is the "Monster Hunter" series I've known, requires a lot of effort and teamwork in the group you are hunting with. (even if you don't believe you'll make it, you still try regardless) Not trying to sound like some jerk (which I really hope not) but it just seems like trying to "get his over with" is all I've seen on Frontier. "Kill it fast, get this weapon/armor/skill since it's better, etc." just bothers me since it's like, a "chore" to actually fight and it's annoying. Even if you rush though the game, it's not like you're going to get anything special out of it, so why hurry? Have fun while you are playing and don't rush your way to the end. ...Forgive me for going on like this, it's just I guess I miss the old days and wish that at least some people here on Frontier would at least have fun... and not just "play it" to get it over with like back on the online town on Ps2. /rant [/off topic]

Even if you rush though the game, it's not like you're going to get anything special out of it, so why hurry? Have fun while you are playing and don't rush your way to the end. Well I suppose you can think of it that way, but I get my jollys from: A. Making armour pieces/weapons that I wanted B. Getting pieces for the armour/weapons I would like to make C. Killin shit It can turn out to be a chore to grind the same monster over and over again, but then use your head once in a while and mix it up, alternate between quests to prevent it from getting stale. Also addressing the "kill it faster, to get this over with", if I kill stuff faster, that means that I can technically kill more stuff thus making me enjoy the game more (point C I made earlier). Hmm yeah... on the topic of MH3... Saw a fuck ton of live streams, looked alright, although the only interesting monster seemed to be Albatrion imo.

D: Yeah good point, got carried away about that, sorry.
About MH3 though, it's a good one to try sometime, online if you can as it's more fun and more stuff is available, while offline is good too. I do like the monster pin-down moves though, it's something new to see. o:
also, unless I can find a way of "patching" the quests on the game disk itself, don't think I'll be able to play offline with Alba/Shen. :c

lol personally Alba looked kinda lame but I only watched like 2 videos. The lower monsters are a lot more interesting this time around which I like. Means not every monster is ignored. But... sorta wish all monsters had a pin attack. It would be cool to see a Jagii/Bagii feeding frenzy Sleep spit -> feeding frenzy om nom nom no mnom "HAY UR A GUNNER WHARZ UR ADREN. " ;D Guns feel stronger in tri. Haven't tried making an adren gunner set yet though.

~_~ Adren + me = No.
I found it funny that my first Ruststone I got on Tri was a "rust" gun (not really rust, but eh.. you know) which I'm guessing was pure dumb luck on my part... or something unnatural
The Jagii/Bagii would be interesting to see if it was in there, but I'd have to say Changa's better suited for that "nom nom" part. Actually, for that matter, I wonder how each monster's pin would be? Ragia's big enough to use that long body of his to wrap around something, squeeze, and send pulses of electric shocks to it's victim, as you see the way he curls around before he does a dash/spin.
...yeesh, maybe not.
Speaking of om noms, when I saw Gigi's pin move for the first time in-game, i was like ._. Didn't want a Khezu near me after that for a while.
