Only reason I'd get it is if it has skills towards what I wanted, though it doesn't have what I'm looking for, so why get it? Besides, walking around with those ears is silly.

Fine... I understand it's a big deal to get it, but I'm not really "asking" why other people want it. It's just the people who compete to get it I find silly. That's all.

As for the skill comment you made; Not exactly 0 skills, but yeah, I don't need many skills to play Frontier or any other version for that matter. I already have a set I'm using which works for me just fine. I feel like it's uh, "unfair" (?) to the monster to have too many skills... that and I'm too lazy to mess with other skills.

It's actually funny that you don't want a headpiece that gives HGE, 5pts to Luck, SW+1, and 1 slot on top of that. Which basically makes it more valuable than many of the individual pieces of armour out there, is FREE, and only requires a few minutes to apply.

Whereas many of the pieces you'd have been working on require many more hours to complete and may be lucky to give the same skills without some gem work.

It's not really about doing things for yourself on a team based game TBH. It's about helping other people, and if you are joining a quest without skills that make the quest less painful for all those involved, then you are actually leeching off of those people who worked quite diligently to put together proper, fully utilized sets.

You just made it seem as though a gift horse wasn't good enough, and all those who entered were foolish to do so. So I thought I'd point out the counter argument and make a more pointed suggestion.

Think back to phongs posts, he insults koreans, the game developers, etc. complains about coupons not being useful to him. All of this, and he refuses to acknowledge that he is almost always the most inferior player in any group for his own quests. All because he decides nothing else is worth his time or effort, that includes the idea of improving yourself for the sake of helping others in a game whose main draw should be playing with other people.

Short version:
Everyone has their reasons to want this or that for improving w/e they want to improve. But refusing 'free' items while ridiculing those who do want them, and will take advantage of them through proper implementation simply points to your own neglect of what is essentially a 'gift' to those who desire it.
