So, I'm on MHF and all that madness; after weeks of finding what I needed to find. Do people still play, if so is there someone who knows the ropes who can help me with all this madness?

It's a language curve that's for sure. xD But it's still MH.

Yep, I didn't know much when I was playing 2nd G when it first came around, but most of the stuff I already knew since it was from Freedom 2.
Frontier, well... I'd say I started to translate a lot more after that. Of course, Portable 3rd I've learned to roll with what I can figure out, and the monsters still play alike from the Tri version, so it's all good.
Regardless, once you got the pattern of how MH works, you'll never forget it.

Touche, the only thing is the crafting seems tricky. And what are hunter and gather quests; I'm going with, collect everything in zone and take notes route. xD The ps2 one got me into MH, and not much has changed. Play Tri and the portables.

Well, when it comes to crafting, let's put it this way:
To make this random weapon, you need like, 2 of "Item A" / 10 of "Item B" / 1 "Item C" / 8 of "Item D"
First things first, check what each "Item" is: Items A & C are Scale items, one is red and another is green. Item D is a Red "Honey" icon, which could mean webbing. Item B is a Green Ore icon, so gotta be Dragonite or something simillar.
Items A & C only require a small amount needed, so they could be Plates, but from who? Raths come to mind at first, but if you end up getting them on your first run, they could actually be scales, instead. If not, plates, and if STILL not, then another monster might have items that color.
Once you figure out what each item is, how much of it is needed, you can more or less figure out what you might need based on the items shown. Even if you "do" know the name of it (and it's a rare item), if it's a low % drop, no point in knowing exact names, it's it just based on some luck or whatever.
...that's my game play thinking for Frontier/P3rd. Haha.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to write that out. Very helpful, going to try that point; I also got a handy item from Korean to English list; probably written by someone here or the neoseekers forum.

Hey I've been playing for two days now and I'm rank 6. The game is pretty easy to get the hang of if you play previously Monster Hunter games.
My IGN is Mortero and ID is 7UTUE1
add me!!
