you can start creating this armor very early.. like HR11~ish... but wont be able to complete the set until HR22~ish?
im currently HR45, and i have been doing all the lower (HR 30 and below) quest.. having difficulty finding group for Plesioth >_<
here's a rundown, according to SeAh; Before Upgrade, Total cost : 18,290z After Lvl7 Upgrade, Total Cost : 401,708z
Before Upgrade, Defense : 118 After Upgrade, Defense : 411
i think i've spent atleast 150,000z so far... once i do the last upgrade (lvl 6 to 7) it will be expensive >_<

Well, when you get to HR 61, you can just get Garuruga F for around 60k...XD
It's got over near 100def per piece at first make. 80 133 93 120 106 ----- 532def.
Comes with RA+3 and Earplugs with slots for Sharp Sword and Guard+1...or HGE if you want.

well, its precise since im already almost done making it (got all the base stats, need to upgrade for gem slots yay)
where did u hear about velo/battle helm?
check the Armor Info Link above.. check each armor piece (they are U and S links, click on the base armor.. on the right side "필요 아이템" category) and you will see the items you need.. click on them and it clearly shows which monster drops it or which ore you need to mine/item to gather.

Hmm, Atk up LRG should be worth more as it boosts atk before adrenaline is calculated.
Adren on Frontier functions like heroics on the freedom series. Crits are 1.25 the damage based on a critical chance.
Given native 30% chance from RA+3 that's .30 x .25 which is an increase of 7.5% damage over time, atk up lrg gives a boost relative to the weapons' class. LS/GS for instance get a constant 96damage, while DS get 28atk boost from atk up LRG.
The class variables are obvious at this point given that the korean description of the skill is that the class is boosted by 20x for large (10xmed/5xsmall). This is exactly double of what the psp version would give for reference sake.
But anyway, basically, the lower your weapons atk power the more overpowering the damage boost from atkupLRG compared to crit damage over time. Even nearing the limit of some of the best weapons 7.5% only nears atkupLRG, but doesn't really pass it up unless the weapon has some serious atk power (1296 LS, or 1344GS). But when you apply adren, which boosts by 50% the atk power that you see in your status window, atkupLRG gains a bigger advantage.
So it's better to go with LRGatk rather than crit+3.
pr0. xD
